SMALLRIG Wooden NATO Side Handle 2187

The SMALLRIG Wooden NATO Side Handle 2187 is a premium accessory crafted to combine ergonomic comfort, natural aesthetics, and professional functionality. Unlike standard metal handles, this model integrates a beautifully finished wooden grip with NATO rail technology, offering filmmakers both style and substance. As a result, it provides enhanced stability, rapid setup, and a comfortable handheld experience that reduces fatigue during long shooting sessions.

Rigging Excellence

Stability

SMALLRIG designed the 2187 to deliver superior stability. When filmmakers shoot handheld, unwanted vibrations can compromise footage quality. However, this side handle locks firmly onto NATO rails, ensuring a secure connection that minimizes movement. Consequently, creators can capture cinematic shots with confidence, knowing their rig remains steady even during dynamic sequences.

Flexibility

In addition to stability, the handle offers remarkable flexibility. Its NATO clamp allows quick attachment and detachment without tools, saving valuable time on set. Moreover, the handle supports both left‑handed and right‑handed configurations, making it adaptable to different shooting styles. This versatility ensures that filmmakers can transition seamlessly between handheld, tripod, or gimbal setups without interrupting their workflow.

Durability

Durability is another defining feature of the 2187. SMALLRIG constructed the handle from aircraft‑grade aluminum alloy and high‑quality wood, which withstands demanding production environments. Furthermore, the polished wooden grip resists wear while providing a natural, comfortable feel. Because durability translates into peace of mind, filmmakers can trust that their handle will perform consistently across multiple projects.

Compatibility

Compatibility plays a crucial role in professional rigging, and this handle excels in that regard. It integrates seamlessly with cages and rigs equipped with NATO rails, making it versatile across a wide range of camera setups. Therefore, whether you are building a lightweight rig for documentary work or a complex system for commercial production, the 2187 fits effortlessly into your workflow.
